Peter Ho Davies

Peter Ho Davies was born in Coventry in 1966 to Welsh and Chinese parents. He studied physics at Manchester University, and English at Cambridge, and after three years working in publishing in Britain and Asia, moved to the US in 1992 to take an MA in creative writing. He is the author of two short-story collections: The Ugliest House in the World (winner of the John Llewelyn Rhys and PEN/Macmillan Prizes in the UK) and Equal Love (a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize). ‘Leading Men’, which appears in Granta 81, is taken from his first novel, The Welsh Girl, which was published in 2007. Davies currently directs the graduate programme in creative writing at the University of Michigan.
