Tash Aw grew up in Malaysia and moved to Britain when he was eighteen. In 2005 his first novel, The Harmony Silk Factory, won the Whitbread Award and the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book. His second novel was Map of the Invisible World, and his most recent novel is Five Star Billionaire, published in 2013. He lives in London.
