Angela Carter

Angela Carter (1940-1992) was the author of Shadow Dance, The Magic Toyshop, The Bloody Chamber and The Infernal Desire Machines of Dr Hoffman, among numerous other works. Her poetry collections include Five Quiet Shouters and Unicorn. Her novel Nights at the Circus won the 1984 James Tate Black Memorial Prize.
